HS/HT Student Reaches for the Stars
Dustin, a junior at Kennedy Krieger Institute, participated in University of Maryland's High School/High Tech Young Scholars Program this summer. This resulted in a very successful internship experience at NASA, which has continued into the school year.

bullet High School/High Tech Celebrates A New Beginning
  (10/26/07) As DORS concludes the Maryland High School/High Tech (HSHT) grant that was awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy, we are looking toward the future to continue to have the same positive impact on the lives of transitioning youth in Maryland. On Thursday, October 18, 2007, the HSHT Leadership Consortium first took some time to reflect back on the evolution of this valuable program for transitioning youth and to review the accomplishments of this past year.
bullet High School High Tech Students Excel in Summer Internships
  (9/7/07) Eleven High School/High Tech students from around Maryland spent their summers working—not just watching—as interns in diverse settings that included a zoo, NASA, pharmacies, a radio station and a day care center.
bullet National Federation of the Blind Holds STEM Leadership Academy
  (8/27/07) The National Federation of the Blind’s (NFB) Jernigan Institute, in partnership with Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering, NASA, National Science Foundation, and UPS, held their first ever national Science camp and Leadership Academy for approximately 200 blind high school students from all over the United States. Included in this austere group were five students from NFB’s High School/High Tech Transition to Independence Club.
bullet IBM Holds Technology Camp at Maryland School for the Deaf
  (6/21/07) In an effort to expand High School/High Tech concepts to Maryland School for the Deaf, IBM, in collaboration with Maryland High School/High Tech, held a very successful Technology Camp for students and their teachers.
bullet NFB Holds Second Annual Career Fair
  (3/7/07) The National Federation of the Blind’s High School/High Tech Transition to Independence Club, in conjunction with the Jernigan Institute, hosted their second annual Career Fair at the National Center for the Blind in Baltimore.
