U.S. Department of Education FAFSA site – Fill out your FAFSA online.  This is your first step to applying for any kind of federal financial aid.

FAFSA4Caster - For those who want to get an early start on determining their eligibility for federal student aid, this site can help you to better understand the financial aid process,become familiar with the various types of federal student aid that are available; and investigate other sources of aid, such as grants and scholarships.

FinAid – This site tells you everything you ever wanted to know about applying for financial aid, including a financial aid calculator (determine your Expected Family Contribution), and finding those little known, unique scholarships that the Financial Aid Office may not even know about!

Maryland Higher Education Commission logo
Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) – This site provides great information on searching for scholarships and other forms of financial aid, as well as financial aid specific to Maryland residents planning on attending Maryland schools.  Be sure to check out information on the Academic Common Market which gives students the opportunity to enroll at certain out-of-state programs that are not offered at an in-state public college or university at reduced tuition rates. Also, check out ARTSYS, an electronic tool for transfer students, which facilitates a smooth transfer from a 2-year to a 4-year college.
