North County High School High Tech Prepares for Job Interviews

The students of the North County High School/High Tech Program in Glen Burnie participated in an Interview Skills Workshop on Friday, April 28, 2006.  This was in preparation for attending the Anne Arundel Youthworks Job Fair in May.  They learned what employers are looking for, how to market themselves, and how to present themselves with confidence despite their lack of work experience.

The highlight of the workshop was when they were instructed to practice shaking hands.  There was much discussion of the right and wrong way to shake hands, and what perception an employer can get from a simple handshake.

Every student was given the challenge to walk away from the Job Fair with at least one employer contact they would like to pursue for a summer internship.  This fine group of students is certainly up to the challenge!
