The National Federation of the Blind's (NFB) High School/High Tech "Transition to Independence Club"
In the 2005-2006 school year, students who are blind and attend high schools in Baltimore City or Baltimore County can participate in workshops, seminars and activities that will help them explore careers of the future.
Transition to Independence Club supports students in their career explorations, but also includes their parents, who often have questions about college planning, disability support services and disability benefits planning.
Employers who support this project include the Goddard Space Flight Center, and The Johns Hopkins University and Whiting School of Engineering.
