Check out SSI and the effect of work on benefits.

Financial planning is an important part of transition. Many people with disabilities are beneficiaries of Supplemental Security Income, a federal program that provides a monthly benefit check that can help pay for living expenses. Being a beneficiary of SSI may bring other supports for young people including eligibility for programs, reduced tuition, and health care services through Medicaid. Check with your local Benefits Planning and Assistance Outreach office for further information.
